Nova climbs down to the ground, and as the child she saves immediately hugs her, she briefly understands the point of being a Renegade. She finds Ruby restraining Oscar from charging back into the burning building to rescue Adrian. They watch the building collapse further, and Nova feels hollow, unsatisfied by the thought of Adrian’s probable death. Suddenly, they hear air horn noises from inside the ruins, so they try to dig through burning rubble to get to Adrian. Before they can make much progress, Tsunami arrives and extinguishes the fire with her water powers. The other Council members charge forward and break through the rubble, finding Adrian intact under the rubble in a melting igloo. He reunites with his friends, but they are all promptly sent to the medical ward by a worried, frustrated Captain Chromium. As the Renegades relate the events of the library, Nova explains the deaths and her confrontation with the Sentinel, and an impressed Oscar suggests that they change her name to Velociraptor because of her viciousness.
Nova almost immediately returns to the subway station to check on the Anarchists but finds them hastily packing to leave their shelter for good. Nova protests, but Leroy insists that they have no choice, and she rushes to pack her own things.
